Rotational Grazing means moving the sheep often to ensure the soil, and plants, get proper rest. Over grazing can lead to soil erosion and nutrient loss in the soil, while under grazing can case stagnation in growth. Proper grazing ensures vibrant growth and optimal soil health.

We use grazing maps, like this one, to track our movement and plan ahead.

Parasite control…

Every 1-2 days, depending on many factors, we move the sheep to a new paddock. This enables the plants to rest while keeping the sheep away from parasites in their manure. After around 60 days, the parasites have run their complete life cycle and the paddock is safe for sheep again.
